Fair Winds & Following Seas

Fair Winds & Following Seas:

"A nautical phrase of good luck – a blessing – as a person, group, or thing is said to depart on a voyage in life. Expressing hope for the voyager to reach their destination under favourable conditions without interruption, strife or detour and to follow a safe journey home."

Originally created in 2019 and presented at Freedom Festival as a unique, intimate and immersive exploration of The River Hull. Fair Winds and Following Seas invites you to re-imagine the ever changing world around you through music and spoken word.

Using a smart device, free downloadable app and a pair of headphones, people are set off on a journey along a per-determined route to enjoy time with their own thoughts and imagination. Using GPS locative sound to trigger and change the music and spoken word at your own pace, the musical composition seamlessly changes at specific locations along the route, immersing you into the dynamics of the soundtrack and the world around you..

Aimed at locals and tourists, with an option for touring, Fair Winds & Following Seas gives you an hour to fall in love with a place you may never have known.
